I agree mostly with the guy below me...
I must also say that I found the first one to be better, I will admit that this is, in general, a great game. In fact, the only reason I'm not giving it a 10 (which I normally would for this calibur of game) is that the Dev's have set my standards so high with the previous one, that I simply cannot do that here.
I, for one, am someone who likes a challenge. That is something that appealed to me in the previous game. Frantically grab points, deposit them if you're feeling unsafe, or risk it by continuing. This game however, gave me the impression of "Oh, you messed up... well, here's your points" versus "DON'T MESS UP!!" Something else I miss is the multiple stages, along with goals. After I did the "level" I was a bit confused, like "OK what now?" I honestly don't want collecting hats to be my only motivation to continue.
I have a few ideas that would make this game better at least for me.
~Return the deposit platform (not only does it add suspense, but it provides a safe area to wait for a certain color, versus hoping a wrong one doesn't come from below you)
~Maybe make an option (or difficulty selector) that determines if, when you mess up, you get all your points (easy), half your points (medium) or lose them all (hard), with them properly explained.
~Return levels and goals, while keeping the risk additions.
~Maybe change up the background for certain levels, like a modern arena, coliseum, and like a medieval courtyard or something.
~Increase the customization, with things like more hats, maybe a color choice, and maybe accessories (like a jet pack to increase dash length). But at least add color choice. Its a nice touch and adds some personalization. (Even some alternate body shapes would be really cool)
~Make the arrows an option... made it too easy for me, and I eventually got tired of it. If I'm maxing out the risks on my second try, something's wrong in my opinion.
~As the guy earlier said, tone the announcer down a bit.
Hope these suggestions help. Other than that, All I have to say besides that is: thanks for sending me a PM about the release. It surprised me, and while the first is still on my favorites, I don't think I can put this one on there (for the same reason as why I'm voting 7), but the PM was a nice touch I've never seen before. That little bit of effort made me feel compelled to actually put some helpful tips, rather than ignore this game once I got bored of it.
