Good Video.

I always love Minecraft flashes. Now if only we could get some Terraria up in here... Oh, the souls I'd steal and then sell for animatorial prowess. Great flash, really amusing, though I was expecting something about 360 = circle, Minecraft = cubes, but that's just me beginning to ramble, so I'll stop.

P.S. Happy Birthday!

Mentalholik responds:

Thanks ever so much! Glad you liked the flash :)

Urgh.

Well, I'm not going to put in a lot of effort for a detailed review, ill make a list:

1. SPELL CHECK!
2. Get the lyrics right, not "Hat let you science", its "Aperture Science" (the name of the company), as well as many other lyrics mistakes.
3. This song has been animated MANY times, and its old news. Most other versions didn't have the other problems either.
4. Drawing quality was fairly low.

KamakaziCat responds:

You cant blame me much on the Bad Quality, because im kind of new to this "Animation creating thing" So I mostly rushed. But my next submission, I will actuly TRY to make it good. :D

hm.

Well, since none of the other reviewers said anything I can agree with (like reviewing the song vs your work), I'll post something:

While I do like the idea of animating words to go along with audio (Dot Dot Dot for example), I feel like a bit more effort could have been put in. There was one point in particular where the text would proceed in groups of 4-5 words, and wasn't really synced with the words (Starting with the words "Holy Cow!"). Early on, some words went off the screen, which should be an easy fix. Other than that, you should probably add some more backgrounds, fonts, colors, and some new ways to have the text appear, rather than just popping up. And, maybe put a bit more effort into the drawings, or at least incorporating them.

I did like some of the minor jokes in the words, like having the letters of "Siamese" fused together, but other than that, its not all that special, tbh.

Hopefully you find this helpful for any future projects, and I hope I didn't make myself sound like an ass. Also, if you want to see what I mean by different animation for the words, check out Dot Dot Dot if you haven't already, it was VERY popular.

daganliberal responds:

Yes, I've seen Dot Dot Dot.

The problem is, I can't actually draw. I used character art from a game I'm making that took *forever* to draw. As for the sync, I thought it synced well, but I'm not good with hearing that kinda stuff. The words going of the screen was probably because you didn't have an OSX computer(I used fonts like Apple Casual).
Ya, I guess I should have used some tweens and keyframe animations.

Thank you for your review :)

Well,

Since "HeWhoOwns" (the guy below me" has some sort of mental issue and thus can't figure out wtf is wrong with his computer (mine worked fine) AND THEN feels the need to post his idiocy, I'm writing this to mostly counteract his stupidity.

Otherwise, the animation was pretty good, though there were some points where, for example, his legs ended before the bottom of the screen, or something, but thats not too big a deal. Music isn't my thing, but the animation went well with it, and I'm not one of those people who votes bad because I dislike the genre.

Scoring: 7/10 +3 for that guy

ThomasTheCelt responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed my animation :)
And I think the reason for the thing with the legs was that I set with and height a bit wrong.
It should be fine now.

I Like it

the only thing I would change would be the text. Its always great when you put voices in, and if you replaced the text with voice, it would be really nice. (Subtitles are useful too if you do decide to do so, just in case some voice overs are harder to understand because of whatever reason).

Blank-Mage responds:

Ironically, I do a fantastic Sonic the Hedgehog impression. I prefer text, it keeps the filesize low, and I honestly don't know how Tails should sound. Trust me, the voice clips I have are... not good. Still, I'll use the occasional voice clip, and I'll have all the usual sounds you might hear from Link (Hya, Rah, Oof, etc).

Well...

I liked it, however I would recommend increasing the output volume on the voices, as even on my $80 they were pretty quiet, while the background music was just loud enough to overlap it when the volume's turned up.

AuntyBarbra responds:

Yeah, I noticed. I recorded my voice overs during late hours at night, if I was too loud, I would disturb the peace in my household. But even then thats no excuse, I'll do better and try harder to make the voices like a tad louder.

I liked it

It was fairly good, and this type of "morphy" animation is pretty cool. Just add some length, music, and maybe some color, and you've got a nice animation. Maybe a preloader as well

saintbenzie responds:

Thanks for the review and the advice. I'm still working on the animation but it will be longer and for sure have music at least.

...?

Pretty sure I saw this up here a few days ago, but I'm not one to judge. I know I've seen it, but I cant remember enough about the title to pull up the page and prove it, and I in fact don't remember where I saw it (though it was prolly here), so I'll just say, if you stole it, shameshame, if not, I'm confused. I honestly don't know what rating to put, but since its a good flash, I'll just put what I think of the flash for rating, whether its yours or not.

Siggeman responds:

This is the 2nd time I upload it. The link to the movie got messed up, so I was told by a mod to reupload it.

Not bad

I did like the high number of sprites, and It gave me a future Chrono-trigger-esque feel (which I liked). I did however, find some problems:
-A bit too much white space during some parts. A nice animated background with some fancy text boxes (like mebbe a computer display-like thing) would improve that.
-I WOULD have liked to see the stages break off, revealing the smaller pod, but thats a minor gripe.
-The general saying "LOL" took away from the atmosphere, I think. (Another minor thing) Also, scientist with a rifle? Why? Lack of sprites? (Yet another minor one)
-Space travel = way more than 100mph, thet asteroid and the collision with the ship would have WRECKED his pod with that. I would've accepted a shield before that, tbh.

OVERALL, not a bad animation, I enjoyed it. Most of my issues are minor ones, with the only major one being the white space. And I'll end my comment before I start to ramble too much :D.

7/10

SergerantJoe responds:

Thank you for being honest and posting intelligently.

Sorry about the white space, but the only alternative was an ugly resized background.

And I haven't taken physics yet, so sorry about that.

Just sayin'

C&H is funnier, and the only real reason they make money on the internet, is cause of ads and the books, which actually takes effort, simply having a website brings little to no revenue, so when you make a book, and a fully functioning web site, then ill listen to your opinion, ty.

DylanSparano responds:

yeah I know I have all of their books I just made this in my spare time I suprised it passed judgment. And I am building a website...

Into snowboarding and usually bored. Thus, It takes a bit to impress me. For anyone who cares, I play World of Warcraft, character name Galem on Chromaggus server.
